Whenever the weather gets bad in New York, I basically never want to do my hair. So a low-bun becomes my go-to. As much as I love low-buns, I sometimes want to jazz it up a bit and make it look like I tried, so this is what I came up with. It takes another extra minute in the morning, and looks like I made a little bit more of an effort.
First, if I have the time, I like to curl my hair. This just makes the low-bun stay a little bit better.
I like to just basically fold my hair in half and secure it with a hair tie. Then with the extra piece sticking out, I tuck it over where the hair tie is showing and secure it with a bobby pin. It looks like it’s really complicated, but it really isn’t. For this hairstyle, I left a couple inches out in the front that I’m going to be braiding them.
Last, just take the extra pieces and braid them and then secure them at the back of your head and under the bun. And ta-da! You have a low-bun that looks like you also made an effort!0
